Aleisha (Alley) Jenkins is DocXellent’s Marketing Director, a wine tasting aficionado, and a talented dance teacher! She leads the marketing efforts at DocXellent, including managing all activities involving the promotion and positioning of our brand, ENSUR software, and services. Around the office, Alley is also known as our CFO (Chief Fun Officer) because she plans our team festivities and company culture building.
Prior to working at DocXellent, Alley earned her B.A. in Arts Management and MBA in Communications and PR. However, before starting her career in business/marketing, she worked as a professional hip hop dancer in Los Angeles where she was fortunate enough to work gigs with Beyonce, Britney Spears, and Katy Perry. She even worked as a Belly Dancer for a short time, performing with a Belly Dance troupe at upscale middle eastern restaurants and events.
Once she transitioned out of the commercial dance industry, she worked as an adjunct instructor at the local community college in Norwich, CT. There, she taught First Year Seminar and eventually became a full-time College Readiness Instructor to the students at the Magnet High School inside the college. She was informed of an opening at DocXellent, and the rest was history. She started here as an Account Manager almost 7 years ago, and her role evolved to what it is today.
Alley’s familiarity with our customer base and their use cases for our ENSUR software made for a natural transition to leading our Marketing Department. Marketing strategies are constantly changing as technology and consumer behavior changes, so being able to adapt and open to learning new things are key. Alley’s creativity, communication skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and commitment to being a lifelong learner all contribute to the amazing work she does for our company.
Working at DocXellent has given Alley the opportunity to expand her skillset as well as meet some great people. She says her favorite things about working here are the supportive leadership and the team: “Our leadership is so encouraging of us trying new strategies and initiatives, seeking continuing education, and empowers us to take ownership of what we do. Working in this type of environment has significantly expanded my skill set. And our team is the best. They are some of the most supportive people I’ve ever worked with, and I learn so much from all of them.”
Alley has accomplished a lot in her 7 years at DocXellent while promoting our online document control and specification management system. However, she cites her impact on our company’s culture as her favorite contribution: “I’m proud of having even a small part in building a lasting culture at this company. Our impressive employee loyalty is a testament to the foundation that our leadership and staff have built together”. No wonder her favorite work-related quote promotes the importance and value of teamwork: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”.
Even though Alley’s job focuses on creativity, she still finds plenty of time to enjoy her creative hobbies outside of work as well. She loves to salsa dance, teach dance classes, design websites, and edit videos for friends. She spends the rest of her free time wine tasting, cooking, and baking! We are so proud to have Alley as a member of our DocXellent Team. Her ability to adapt along with our software and marketing trends has made her an integral asset to our staff.
